Cardi B is offering fans an eye-opening look into the surprising financial demands of raising her three children.
“You all want to know what the kids’ bills look like? Start adding,” the rapper shared during an X Spaces conversation on Friday, May 30. Cardi, 31, shares her children Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and Blossom, 8 months with her former partner, Offset.
“My kids have their own driver. The driver is on a $10,000 monthly retainer,” she revealed. “Kulture and Wave receive private tutoring four times a week. Kulture also takes piano lessons at $300 per hour, three days a week. I’m not exactly sure how much gymnastics and Wave’s boxing classes cost, but I’m the one paying for those, too.”
Cardi went on to mention that Offset hasn’t been contributing financially toward the children’s expenses. She cited Kulture’s private school tuition estimated at around $45,000 as another cost she manages alone. (Cardi filed for divorce in August 2024, just one day before announcing her third pregnancy.)
Us Weekly reached out to Offset’s representatives for comment regarding Cardi’s claims.
The artist also highlighted the ongoing costs of childcare, something many working mothers can relate to. “My cousin watches over Wave and Kulture and earns $3,000 a week,” she said. “Blossom has a nanny who gets $500 per shift.”
“This doesn’t even include food,” Cardi added. “My kids have a personal chef who works from 7 in the morning until 5 in the evening. No one in the house has time to cook, so I pay for that service.”
In total, Cardi estimates she spends over $50,000 each month just to provide for her children’s needs including housing, education, meals, and safety. “Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar pays over $50,000 for her kids alone,” she said, referencing herself by her given name. “And I’m covering all of that without help.”
Still, despite the weight of the financial responsibilities, Cardi has previously acknowledged her ex’s role in supporting their children and her career. In August 2024, she defended him on Instagram: “Okay, this is getting weird because I can say he helps me a lot with my business and with the kids.”
She also criticized reports suggesting otherwise, saying, “Never in my career, no matter what I’ve gone through, has family or friends spoken to the media so I don’t know who’s giving quotes to People Magazine.”
Cardi concluded, “Even with my filing, I’m not asking for child support. All I want is for him to continue paying the bills he already covers for the kids and the new baby.”
