Raymond Cham Jr.
Hulu’s widely praised series, Paradise, is expanding its dynamic portrayal of a post-apocalyptic world with a new addition. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reveals that Raymond Cham Jr., known for his role in Max’s Sort Of, has joined the ensemble cast for the eagerly anticipated second season. Cham is set to star alongside series favorites Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty, further enriching the already captivating cast.
Currently shrouded in mystery, details about Cham’s role remain under wraps. Enthusiastic fans will see him in a recurring capacity, though Hulu has yet to announce the premiere date for Season 2, adding to the suspense.
Set within a seemingly idyllic community, Paradise narrates the gripping tale of a Secret Service agent, portrayed by Sterling K. Brown, who is tasked with safeguarding a former U.S. president, played by James Marsden. However, the facade shatters in a breathtaking twist when the president is murdered, revealing the community as a colossal, subterranean shelter, one of the last bastions of humankind following a disastrous global cataclysm. The drama’s debut season also featured an impressive lineup including Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Jon Beavers, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Charlie Evans, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Enuka Okuma.
After a triumphant first season, Hulu confirmed Paradise would return for a second chapter in February. Show creator Dan Fogelman, known for the hit This Is Us, shared with THR the series’ ambitious trajectory, describing the upcoming season as “the middle episode of our trilogy with also its own beginning, middle and end.”
In addition to Sort Of, Cham’s diverse portfolio includes last year’s The Idea of You, Fox’s The Big Leap, and guest appearances on both Watson and Chicago Med. Represented by Buchwald, Cham is poised to make a remarkable impact as Paradise continues to challenge and enthrall viewers with its intricate storylines.
