Sabrina Carpenter, who released her latest single “Manchild” last week, is slated to release her next album, ‘Man’s Best Friend’ this summer.
The Grammy Award-winning artist is gearing up to release her seventh studio album, paving the way with the introspective lead single, Manchild.
Sabrina Carpenter, the 26-year-old music sensation, has turned heads once again by announcing her upcoming album Man’s Best Friend, set to launch this August. This announcement followed the release of her latest single, Manchild, which Carpenter teased with enthusiasm on Instagram, exclaiming, “I can’t wait for it to be yours x.” The single, co-written with Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff, dropped last week and will spearhead the new album’s roll-out.
In a visually captivating music video for Manchild, Carpenter embarks on a cinematic journey through a desert, traversing in everything from pickup trucks to motorcycles. Notably, she shares these rides with the very subjects of her song, adding depth to her lyrical storytelling. The journey mirrors the reflection Carpenter shared on social media regarding the song’s creation: “I wrote Manchild on a random Tuesday with Amy [Allen] and Jack [Antonoff] soon after finishing Short N’ Sweet, turning out to be the best random Tuesday of my life.”

Carpenter charms her audience with authenticity, reflecting on youth’s confounding yet exhilarating years, “Not only was it so fun to write, but this song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life,” she expressed.
Putting her cheeky spin on her announcement, Carpenter described the vibe of her latest track as “the song embodiment of a loving eye roll.” She added, “It feels like a never-ending road trip in the summer! Hence why I wanted to give it to you now so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long!” Signing off with her quirky humor, she thanked the men for “testing her,” with a playful pig and heart emoji.
The buzz around Carpenter grew exponentially following the release of her 2024 single Espresso from the album Short N’ Sweet, fetching her two Grammy Awards in February for best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album. Although Espresso did not hit No. 1, it has become Carpenter’s most successful track, amassing over 2.2 billion streams on Spotify and spending a staggering 60 weeks on the Hot 100 chart, currently holding the No. 20 spot.
As Sabrina continues to capture the hearts of fans worldwide, she’s set to embark on a second North American tour leg for Short N’ Sweet this fall, with iconic stops including Madison Square Garden and Crypto.com Arena. Man’s Best Friend promises to push the boundaries of her artistic expression when it releases on August 29 via Island Records.
