Amid a whirlwind of legal drama, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds still manage to find joy in the Halloween season.
A Spooky Yet Charming Moment
Recently, Ryan Reynolds, known for his role as Deadpool, shared a festive selfie with wife Blake Lively, embracing the Halloween spirit despite ongoing legal skirmishes involving Lively and her former It Ends With Us director, Justin Baldoni.
On Saturday, October 18, Reynolds took to Instagram to showcase a delightful image of the couple beside a spooky balloon spider, a unique work by Big Head Balloons, an NYC original. The spooky creation was fastened to a New York City light pole.
This is a creation of the wonderful @bigheadballoons,” Reynolds had earlier mentioned in a social media post, adding, “Apologies to those who rushed to investigate insane screaming. I didn’t even know if twas me making the sound to begin with.”
Reynolds continued with a light-hearted touch, referring to rumors about Ghost Spiders while mentioning the environment’s healing: “The paramedics said the ozone layer is healing. She said nobody talks about that either.”
In the whimsical photo, Reynolds sports a beige coat over a soft yellow shirt with black slacks, while Lively radiates in a hefty tweed coat and her signature beach-ready waves cascading down.
The Ongoing Legal Battle
While the couple shares carefree moments, Lively is entangled in a legal dispute with Baldoni. Their clash began in December 2024, with Lively accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment on the set of It Ends With Us. Baldoni denies these claims and has countersued.
Baldoni’s countersuit was eventually dismissed. However, Lively’s lawsuit still stands, slated for trial in March 2026. The case has seen multiple stars from the film, including Jenny Slate, Isabela Ferrera, and author Colleen Hoover, involved in depositions.
According to People, Hoover recently completed her deposition, and both Slate and Ferrera underwent questioning during the summer.
“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate stated in December 2024, following Lively’s allegations.
Jenny Slate, Actress
It Ends With Us author, Colleen Hoover, also showed solidarity, posting on Instagram: “Blake Lively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive, and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”
Preparation for Court
In preparation for the upcoming court date, Lively was deposed in New York City by Baldoni’s legal team while Baldoni himself was present at the deposition. Much anticipation surrounds their impending trial.
