The Oscar-winning visionaries behind Everything Everywhere All at Once have their next big-screen adventure back on the calendar.
New Release Date Set
The highly anticipated follow-up from directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as Daniels, is now scheduled to hit theaters on November 19, 2027. The project had previously been slated for a June 12, 2026 release but was removed from Universal’s schedule earlier this year.
From Indie Darlings to Studio Powerhouses
This untitled feature marks Daniels’ first collaboration with Universal since they signed a multi-year deal in 2022, just before skyrocketing to fame. Their groundbreaking film, Everything Everywhere All at Once, not only grossed over $100 million on a modest $15 million budget but also swept the major Oscar categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
Secretive and Ambitious
Although tight-lipped about their new project, Daniels continued to explore diverse creative ventures, such as directing for the Star Wars TV series, The Skeleton Crew. Regarding their leap into high-budget filmmaking, Kwan shared, \\”We love to chase things that could almost be a catastrophe,\\” while Scheinert added, \\”We thrive on being told no, in moderation,\\” expressing some apprehension about balancing creative challenges with larger budgets.
