A father and his daughter lost their lives in Brazil after a truck accident triggered an onslaught of agitated bees.

A Truck, A Beehive, and A Tragedy

In a heart-wrenching incident, 54-year-old Silvana da Fátima Braganca da Luz lost control of her truck on a dirt road in Vacaria, a rural area in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The vehicle overturned, crashing directly into a beehive. This resulted in a devastating bee attack on October 22, as confirmed by Brazil’s Civil Police and fire department to local media including G1, GZH, and Jornal Semanário.

A neighbor, reacting to the ensuing commotion, promptly notified emergency services and Silvana’s parents, who lived nearby. However, the nearest fire station was a considerable distance away, about 37 miles.
