Billionaire couple Nelson and Claudia Peltz are embroiled in legal turmoil after their former housekeeper, Mileydis Morejon, filed a lawsuit seeking $75,000 in damages, alleging repeated attacks by the family’s pit bull, Houdini. According to a May 23 report from Page Six, the incidents reportedly occurred throughout 2023 at the Peltz family’s $100 million estate in Florida.
In her complaint, Morejon claims the untrained and aggressive dog tore her clothing, lunged at her in a threatening manner, and forced her to retreat in fear—at one point using a vacuum cleaner in self-defense. She alleges the Peltzes knew or should have known about Houdini’s “vicious propensities,” yet failed to prevent harm. The lawsuit, filed in December 2024, accuses the couple of negligence and states that Morejon suffered “physical and mental pain,” “disability,” “disfigurement,” and long-lasting emotional distress. She also seeks compensation for medical bills and financial losses stemming from the alleged attacks.
In a response filed in May 2025, Nelson and Claudia Peltz denied all claims of wrongdoing. They argued that Morejon “did not suffer from a dog bite” and had “no physical contact” with Houdini—asserting that her lack of direct injury invalidates her demand for damages. Nelson Peltz further contended that Morejon, in her capacity as housekeeper, frequently encountered and cared for the dog and should have been familiar with its behavior.
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for the Peltzes for comment.
Adding further intrigue to the situation, the couple’s daughter Nicola Peltz Beckham has recently made headlines amid speculation of familial tension. She and her husband Brooklyn Beckham were notably absent from David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday celebration, a move that has only intensified rumors of rifts between the Beckham and Peltz families.
