Clea Shearer is marking a heartfelt family milestone as her eldest daughter, Stella Blue, officially graduates from middle school.
The co-founder of The Home Edit, and a breast cancer survivor, took to Instagram on Friday, May 23, to share her pride and joy through a collection of heartwarming photos capturing the celebration. Among the well-wishers were close friends Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, who joined Shearer and her husband, photographer John Shearer, for a post-ceremony lunch.
In an Instagram Story, Shearer offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the festivities, with Kidman seated opposite her and Urban across from John Shearer. She also posted a moving video of Stella walking across the stage to receive her certificate. “And just like that… she’s in high school,” Shearer wrote, reflecting on the emotional moment.
Adding to the excitement, Shearer shared that her younger child, Sutton Gray, will be starting middle school this fall. “My littlest baby will be in MIDDLE SCHOOL, which is just as mind-blowing,” she captioned a photo of the entire Shearer family.
Also present for the special day was Shearer’s mother, Roberta L. Friedman, who appeared alongside her daughter and granddaughter in a generational portrait. “Three generations of women who graduated from the 8th grade,” Shearer wrote, commemorating the legacy.
In addition to her joyous family updates, Shearer has continued to be candid about her health journey. After first announcing her breast cancer diagnosis in March 2022, she was declared cancer-free in November the same year. However, in January, Shearer underwent her eighth surgery after doctors discovered complications at the incision site.
“There was no time to gear up mentally, as the procedure was urgent,” she recalled in a heartfelt Instagram post. Despite the challenges, Shearer remains optimistic. In a September 2024 interview with PEOPLE, she shared, “This journey has enlightened me to a strength I never imagined.”
As Stella Blue embarks on her high school journey, Shearer continues to celebrate life’s milestones with gratitude, resilience, and the support of loved ones—both famous and familiar.
