A poignant message from the past, untouched by time, emerged when two young adventurers stumbled upon something extraordinary—a handwritten love letter from 1959, sealed inside a glass bottle.
Eryk and Kuba, both 10 years old and fueled by curiosity, made the heartwarming discovery while exploring Stogi Beach in Gdańsk, Poland. According to UPI, their walk along the serene coastline led them to a time capsule of emotions, preserved for 66 years beneath the sand.
Inside the bottle rested a faded letter addressed tenderly to “Bunny.” The note was signed by “Rysia,” a young woman who had poured her soul onto paper while studying in the southern Polish city of Tarnów—over 420 miles away.
“I assure you that I am quiet and modest, I do not make friends with anyone, I simply avoid men,” Rysia wrote, as reported by Ammon News.
Though her words spoke of solitude, the letter blossomed with sincere affection. “My dear, I am a terrible egoist, I only write about myself, but I only think about you, I see you at every moment,” she confessed.
Now, in a quest worthy of a novel, Eryk and Kuba have contacted a museum in Tarnów, hoping to identify Rysia and perhaps return the letter to its author—or her descendants.
What began as a playful exploration turned into an unforgettable brush with history—a powerful reminder that love, once written, never truly fades.
