Rosamund Pike
The Oscar-nominated actress Rosamund Pike recently shared a chilling story that nearly leaves one speechless—her terrifying mugging experience from almost twenty years ago has resurfaced, gripping attention. During an interview with Magic Radio, Pike revealed the incident occurred in 2006 while she casually chatted with her mother on a mobile phone.
“I was on the phone to my mother, on a mobile phone walking along a road, and I was mugged,” she recounted with evident recollection, as reported by The Independent. The shocking attack left Pike momentarily speechless; her mother, on the other end of the line, heard only her scream followed by a chilling thud when the line cut off.
Pike’s voice tinged with anger as she recalled being punched in the face, a brutal encounter leaving a visible bruise that served as a stark reminder of the harrowing incident. Her mother endured “15 minutes of hell” until Pike was able to reconnect with her.
The Independent further highlighted the rising crime in London, noting a staggering 151 percent increase in mobile phone thefts, painting a grim picture of the city’s streets.
A native Londoner, Pike has enjoyed a storied career with roles in film gems such as Die Another Day (2002), Pride & Prejudice (2005), and her Oscar-nominated performance in Gone Girl (2014) alongside Ben Affleck. More recently, she appeared in Saltburn (2023) and the futuristic series Hallow Road (2025).
Pike also led the charge in Prime Video’s fantasy epic The Wheel of Time, a three-season saga that recently met an untimely end with its cancellation.
The Hollywood Reporter has sought confirmation from Pike’s representative, questioning whether any charges were filed against the culprits of this impactful mugging episode.
