Sean “Diddy” Combs
In a riveting turn of events during the ongoing trial against rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, former assistant Capricorn Clark took the stand, revealing a dramatic mix of defiance and vulnerability. On a tense Tuesday morning in a New York courtroom, Clark shared shocking allegations of being kidnapped at gunpoint by Combs though under pressure from the defense, she later walked back parts of her account.
Having worked with Def Jam and BET Films, Clark recounted disturbing experiences involving Combs, now facing serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. As court resumed following the Memorial Day break, Clark detailed an alleged 2011 incident involving rapper Scott Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi a former Combs rival and one-time partner of prosecution witness Cassie Ventura. Clark claimed that after being abducted by an armed Combs, she made a frantic call to warn of potential danger at Cudi’s residence.
“Combs confronted me with a gun and drove me to Mescudi’s home with the intention of killing him,” she told the court.
According to Clark, that night unfolded in chaos. After they left Cudi’s Hollywood Hills home in Combs’ Escalade, they spotted Cudi’s Porsche nearby. As the situation escalated, the sound of police sirens forced Combs to flee to a nightclub, and later return home. Clark also described witnessing Combs violently assault Cassie in the street later that night after picking her up from a hotel.
The case against Combs, now 55, is monumental. He faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and other serious offenses a conviction could lead to a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison.
During cross-examination, Clark faced intense questioning. The defense zeroed in on inconsistencies in her timeline, specifically her calls from inside the Escalade questioning whether she called anyone before reaching out to Ventura and Cudi. Combs allegedly told his entourage to reassure Cudi that he “wasn’t behind” the break-in.
“If you don’t convince him, I’ll kill all of you,” Clark quoted Combs, causing a chilling moment in court.
Clark said she and Cassie had to approach Cudi to ensure his silence, fearing he might alert police.
Throughout her emotional testimony, Clark alternated between calm composure, sharp retorts, and open tears. At one point, she apologized to the judge for breaking down but remained determined to finish. She also revealed that after the incident, her career crumbled she was fired from Bad Boy Records for allegedly hiding Cassie’s relationship from Combs.
“He dismantled my life,” she said through tears. “He promised I’d never work again, isolated me, and pushed me to the brink of ending my life.”
Yet, despite her statements, the defense presented 2016 emails in which Clark appeared to seek employment with Combs once more, asking for forgiveness and recognition. She explained that her dependence stemmed from needing to support her son with autism. “He is the gatekeeper to my career,” she said, visibly emotional.
Clark’s testimony also touched on her opinion of Cassie’s artistry. During her work from 2007 to 2010, she believed the label’s investment in Cassie shifted as her relationship with Combs turned more personal. Upon returning to work for him as a creative director, Clark collaborated on efforts to enhance Cassie’s image and career.
As the trial unfolds, Clark’s powerful testimony adds to a growing series of dramatic revelations each one sharpening the focus on truth, loyalty, and the high-stakes battle playing out in court.
