TOP STORIES
The Handmaid’s Tale aficionados have witnessed significant transformations within the cast both on and off the screen since the show first enchanted audiences. This acclaimed Hulu series, which premiered in 2017, draws from Margaret Atwood’s visionary novel of the same name, depicting a dystopian future where, in the wake of plummeting fertility rates and a second American Civil War, women are reduced to childbearing servitude.
From the beginning, the series has been anchored by stars like Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O T Fagbenle, Max Minghella, and Samira Wiley. Over the years, The Handmaid’s Tale secured its place in television history, becoming a critical success. It marked Hulu’s first major award win and the first streaming series to earn an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.
Hulu has now confirmed that the sixth season, released in 2025, will be the final chapter of this groundbreaking saga. Before entering this concluding phase, the series experienced a leadership shift as longtime showrunner Bruce Miller stepped aside. Though he remains involved as a writer and executive producer, Miller is now focusing on the anticipated spinoff, The Testaments. Executive producers Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang have taken the helm.
