Traveling with a baby presents unique challenges, but Alex Drummond Scott has a refreshing approach to airport parenting, offering a glimpse into her journey with her daughter Sofia.
The Journey Begins
Ree Drummond’s oldest daughter, Alex, recently took a trip from Oklahoma to Texas with her 10-month-old baby, Sofia. The Pioneer Woman star’s daughter showcased her travel strategies for a smooth journey, capturing the trip on her Instagram Stories.
The 28-year-old shared snippets of their adventure on Oct. 22, kicking off with a sweet photograph of Sofia napping in the car. Sofia, dressed in pink pajamas with a matching hair bow, rests peacefully in her car seat, pacifier in tow. “& in the car heading to airport just on schedule to nap,” Alex noted.
A Confession from the Airport
However, it’s Alex’s candid confession that resonated with many of her followers. Displayed in another Instagram Story, Sofia can be seen entertaining herself on the carpeted airport floor, surrounded by toys.
“Just here to confess that we will be the family who lets their babies crawl around on the airport floor. It’ll boost her immune system,” Alex shared.

Life as a New Mom
Since welcoming Sofia in December 2024 with her husband, Mauricio Scott, Alex has been openly chronicling her journey into motherhood on social media. Her mother, Ree, alongside her husband Ladd, seems to revel in her role as a grandmother, often sharing updates with fans.
In March, Ree revealed her initial hesitations about becoming a grandmother but admitted to embracing the experience with enthusiasm.
\\”When your firstborn has a baby that looks exactly like she looked, you get to relive all the delicious feelings of first-time motherhood, but without the sleep deprivation, hormones, and confusion,\\” she captioned a tender video of Sofia.

\\”I didn’t think I was ready yet to cross over to the granny side of the street, but Lord in Heaven… I am loving it and I’m so grateful for this gift,\\” she expressed.
