Signature Entertainment has officially secured the U.K. and Irish distribution rights for the upcoming horror-thriller Eye for an Eye, a chilling tale fronted by rising star Whitney Peak—soon to be seen in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Joining Peak in this eerie descent are acclaimed talents Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton), S. Epatha Merkerson (Chicago Med), and Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country). The film is directed by visual mastermind Colin Tilley and is based on Mr Sandman, the haunting graphic novel by Elisa Victoria.
Co-written by Victoria and Michael Tully, Eye for an Eye follows Anna, a young woman left shattered after the sudden death of her parents. Seeking solace, she flees the chaos of New York City for a quiet Florida town, moving in with her estranged grandmother.
“Isolated, vulnerable and in need of friends, she finds brief solace in the company of two local teens,” the synopsis reads. But that fragile comfort soon gives way to terror. After becoming entangled in a violent act, Anna crosses paths with Mr. Sandman—a tormented spirit who haunts bullies in their dreams, stealing their eyes as chilling trophies.
This nightmarish feature is brought to the screen by producers Rachael Fung (Fremont), Nate Kamiya (Between the Temples), and executive producers Tim Headington (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story) and Theresa Steele Page (The Green Knight), under the banner of Ley Line Entertainment.
The U.K. and Ireland deal was finalized by Elizabeth Williams, Signature Entertainment’s Chief Commercial Officer, and Nicole Mackey, Head of Sales at HanWay Films. “We’re thrilled to be reteaming with our long-standing partners at HanWay Films on this unsettling revenge tale that is sure to keep U.K. and Irish audiences up at night later this year,” Williams stated.
Eye for an Eye is poised to be one of the year’s most spine-tingling releases.
