Justin Baldoni
Despite facing a judicial setback against Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni appears unfazed as he navigates his legal storm with a positive demeanor. The 41-year-old actor was spotted over the weekend enjoying himself among the colorful attractions of California’s Disneyland Park. Viral TikTok videos from Saturday, June 28, depict Baldoni, donning a Star Wars shirt, enthusiastically interacting with fans as he strolled through the iconic park. The actor’s carefree appearance comes shortly after his legal team confirmed there would be no revisions to his dismissed claims against Lively, 37.
The legal drama unfolds following a June 9 ruling by Judge Lewis J. Liman, who dismissed Baldoni’s hefty $400 million countersuit against Lively, which accused her and husband Ryan Reynolds of extortion and defamation. In addition to the dismissal of Baldoni’s lawsuit against the New York Times, Lively celebrated the legal victory through a statement by her representatives, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb. “Today’s opinion is a total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively, along with those that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties dragged into their retaliatory lawsuit, including Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Sloane, and The New York Times,” they declared.
The statement continued with confidence: “As we have said from day one, this ‘$400 million’ lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it. We look forward to the next round, which is seeking attorneys’ fees, treble damages, and punitive damages against Baldoni, Sarowitz, Nathan, and the other Wayfarer Parties who perpetrated this abusive litigation.”
Meanwhile, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, emphasized resilience in the face of the dismissal during a conversation with People on June 24. He explained that Baldoni chose not to amend the claims, indicating a strategic pivot in their legal approach. Freedman stated, “The Court’s decision on the motion to dismiss has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign, and it does not in any way affect our vigorous defense against Ms. Lively’s claims.”
He further assured, “Discovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations. Instead of revising the existing claims, our clients will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us.”
As they prepared for a court showdown in December 2024, Lively’s representative told Us Weekly, “The Court dismissed the frivolous $400 million Baldoni-Wayfarer lawsuit in its entirety. In the days that followed, Baldoni’s lawyer said the judge’s decision to dismiss their case was not a big deal as they promised to amend and refile it. As per usual, that was not true. The Court’s dismissal of Baldoni’s sham lawsuit was a total victory after all.”
As Baldoni embraces the escapism of Disneyland, the legal battle with Lively looms, promising more twists and turns to captivate our attention in the coming months.
