In a dazzling moment that lit up Los Angeles, SZA welcomed Justin Bieber on stage for a surprise duet during her Grand National Tour stop at SoFi Stadium on Friday, May 23. Performing their joint track “Snooze,” the pair stunned the sold-out crowd with a heartfelt and chemistry-fueled performance that brought fans to their feet.
Bieber, dressed in an all-black outfit topped with a Balenciaga jacket, joined SZA mid-set to trade verses from the fan-favorite track off her Grammy-nominated album SOS. The two shared playful moments, with Bieber punctuating the performance by kissing SZA’s hand multiple times, drawing cheers and laughter from the audience. Their on-stage energy echoed the emotional intimacy of their previous acoustic collaboration, which also featured Young Mazino, Woody McClain, and Benny Blanco in its 2023 music video.
This marks one of Bieber’s few public performances in recent months. His last major appearance was at Coachella 2024, where he joined Tems and Wizkid for a surprise rendition of their hit remix “Essence.” Though Bieber has stepped back from solo touring—cancelling his Justice World Tour amid concerns about his mental health and financial strain—his return to the stage in support of SZA drew wide acclaim.
Earlier this week, SZA’s first L.A. show featured another special guest, Lizzo, who performed her “Special” remix. The Grand National Tour, which began on April 19 in Minneapolis, has been full of headline-making moments. The final L.A. performance is set for Saturday, May 24, where SZA will be joined by Kendrick Lamar, before heading to Glendale, Arizona on May 27.
With surprise guests and viral performances, SZA continues to redefine what it means to headline a stadium tour — leaving audiences guessing and inspired at every turn.
