But we never stopped thinking about her or loving her or praying for her.\\”

The family faced tragedy when Melodee’s father, Rubiell Meza, passed away in a vehicle accident in 2016, leaving Melodee in Ashlee’s care. Even Lori Miranda, Ashlee’s mother, shared with KSBY that she had not spoken with her granddaughter in two years, learning about Melodee’s situation only through police inquiry.
