Robin Thicke
In a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Alan Thicke, singer Robin Thicke honored his memory in a profoundly moving gesture on his wedding day. On Friday, May 30, Robin, 48, married longtime partner April Love Geary, 30, in a breathtaking ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Amid the celebration, one empty chair stood quietly among the guests reserved in memory of his beloved father, who passed away in 2016 from a ruptured aorta and a type A aortic dissection at the age of 69.
The moment was captured in a video shared by author Kelly Gores on Instagram, where a banner draped across the seat read: “In loving memory of Alan Thicke, Father of the groom. We remember … Although you cannot be here with us today, your love and light remain in our hearts. We feel your presence in the gentle breeze, the warmth of the sun, and the joy that fills the day. You are forever in our hearts.” The gesture served as a powerful reminder of Alan’s lasting presence, even in his absence.
Adding to the emotion of the occasion, Robin surprised April with a second proposal just days before the ceremony. During their trip to Cannes, he presented her with a new engagement ring, designed by one of her closest friends. Overjoyed, April shared the moment on Instagram: “Robin surprised me during our trip to Cannes by proposing to me again with a new ring that one of my best friends made. I’m so obsessed with it. Thank you!”

Robin and April first began their relationship in 2014 and became engaged in December 2018. Over the years, they welcomed three children daughters Mia and Lola, born in 2018 and 2019, and their son Luca, born in 2020. Speaking with People magazine in early 2024, Robin shared their excitement about finally tying the knot after years of building a life together. “Wedding plans are a priority. We’re looking at 2024, and we’re very excited,” he said. “My relationship with April continues to grow beautifully. She’s really the most amazing woman a man could ask for.”
In March 2022, April humorously addressed the topic of prenuptial agreements on Instagram. While uncertain whether Robin intended to have one, she confidently declared, “I’m not signing one,” and joked, “He’s not marrying anyone else after me. How do you go from the baddest girl on the planet? Where do you go from there? Nowhere.”
Their love story is one of connection, evolution, and joy culminating in a wedding that celebrated not only their bond but also the legacy of a father who remains deeply loved and remembered.
