Oliver Widger has captured the online world’s imagination with his bold solo sailing expedition across the Pacific Ocean — and now, thanks to a unique collaboration, he’s received a surprise mid-ocean delivery that has both stunned and inspired fans.
Widger, 29, left behind his corporate life and cashed out his 401(k) to pursue a lifelong dream of sailing the world with his beloved cat, Phoenix. His journey from the coast of Oregon to Hawaii has drawn in 1.8 million followers on Instagram, who eagerly track his seafaring updates. But the most talked-about moment yet? A care package drop coordinated by e.l.f. Cosmetics and aviation initiative Aloft — delivered right to Widger’s location in the middle of the ocean.
“Receiving the e.l.f. care package amid the ocean was surreal yet incredible,” Widger said in a press release. “Beyond the essentials, it symbolized the unseen support — a testament to human spirit and the values of a brand unafraid of bold gestures.”
The package included e.l.f.’s Holy Hydration! Face Cream, Suntouchable Invisi-Stick SPF 50, and treats for Phoenix. As part of the campaign, e.l.f. also pledged a donation to an animal shelter of Widger’s choice — honoring the adventurous feline who has shared every nautical mile.

Widger’s odyssey began four years ago, after a health scare revealed a risk of future paralysis. That revelation shifted his entire outlook on life. One of his early viral videos showed him in his car, disillusioned with his job at a tire shop. “This life isn’t for me,” he said. “I’ll sail this world and live my life at sea.”
On May 24, after 21 days on open water, Widger arrived in Waikiki, Hawaii. Hours later, he joined the “e.l.f. you!” Twitch livestream, reflecting on his accomplishment. “Inspiring even one person to chase their dream mirrors my triumph,” he shared.
