Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Taylor Swift
In a heartening move that stirred fans across the globe, Taylor Swift has officially reclaimed ownership of her entire music catalog a milestone quietly celebrated by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his teammate Patrick Mahomes. On May 30, Swift took to Instagram with a series of radiant new photos, directing fans to her website for a detailed letter reflecting on her journey to regain her masters. Among the thousands of reactions, Kelce, 35, added his support with a subtle like, joined by the official account of his New Heights podcast. Patrick Mahomes amplified the moment with a retweet of Swift’s letter captioned simply, Taylor Swift now owns her masters.
The post marked a victorious moment in Swift’s years-long effort to reclaim control of her musical legacy, which began after her former label, Big Machine Records, sold her first six albums’ rights to an outside party. Determined to reclaim her narrative, Swift began rerecording her discography starting with Fearless, and followed by Red, Speak Now, and 1989, all now branded with Taylor’s Version. Each reimagined release featured not only enhanced sound but also unreleased tracks from the vault, giving fans new treasures from familiar eras.
As the celebration continued, Swift offered an update on her final two rerecordings: her 2006 self-titled debut and the fan-favorite Reputation. While the debut album has already been rerecorded, Swift confessed that Reputation is still in progress. With refreshing honesty, she wrote, I haven’t even re-recorded a quarter of it. That album was so specific to that time in my life. I kept hitting a wall when I tried to remake it. All that defiance, that longing to be seen while feeling deliberately misunderstood, the hope, the rage, the wildness it’s hard to recapture that.
She added, To be honest, it’s the one album I thought might be impossible to improve by doing it over. Not the music, the visuals, the emotion it all just fit. So I kept putting it off. But eventually, if you’re interested, the vault tracks from Reputation will have their day.
Reflecting on her emotional journey, Swift shared how deeply this milestone has touched her: I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random moments ever since I found out. For nearly twenty years, I kept reaching for this dream, only to see it pulled away. But now, it’s real. All the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me.
Scooter Braun, who originally acquired the masters before selling them to Shamrock Capital, responded with a short message wishing Swift well, saying he is happy for her success.
As for Kelce’s quiet support, it came as no surprise to fans. Since their relationship began in the summer of 2023, the couple has shown up for each other time and time again. Swift was often spotted cheering on Kelce and Mahomes during back-to-back Super Bowl seasons. On the other hand, Kelce attended several of Swift’s Eras Tour performances, which concluded in December 2024.
A source previously told Us Weekly, The tour definitely put their relationship under the spotlight. Now, they’re taking time to relax and just enjoy life. They’ve both worked incredibly hard now they’re just making the most of every moment together.
