Trace Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus
Trace Cyrus has once again confronted his father, Billy Ray Cyrus, publicly. This time, it’s not about music, but rather a personal family issue that has left Trace quite upset.
On Tuesday, musician Trace, better known as Miley Cyrus’s older brother, took to Instagram with a scathing message regarding his father, Billy Ray. According to Trace, his father opted to attend a fashion show in Italy over his grandmother’s funeral in Los Angeles. “This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic,” he stated. “He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn’t come to L.A. for Mammie’s funeral while he was still married to my mom. Even after his daughter [Miley Cyrus] got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn’t come even after the plane was paid for,” Trace declared. “You’re the lamest man to ever walk planet Earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol.”
Trace continued his tirade, stating, “The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I’m old like you. Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it.”
Previously in January, Trace publicly posted an open letter on Instagram calling for assistance for his father following Billy Ray’s performance at President Trump’s inauguration, during which numerous audio difficulties occurred, provoking hostility from Billy Ray. In response, Trace claims Billy Ray threatened him with legal action.
“Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself,” Trace expressed. “I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel. I’m not. Get help.”
